We are very excited to offer this new AR plate gong stand set up, it is one of the simplest, most cost effective, and versatile systems on the market.
This new stand is made out of 3/16" AR plate for excellent durability for years of use. The tab system that the gongs hang from make it very easy to brake down the target for transport and also for quick change over if a strap or bolt brakes during a major match. You will see sever kit options when you click on the "Gong Stand - AR Plate" tab to make purchasing a complete set up very easy.
We also still have our older system as well.
This system is made up with a couple different options. You can set it up using all 3/4" electrical conduit (or any other 3/4” pipe) for the legs and cross bar, or you can use a 2x4 for the top cross bar. Either way is very portable and easy to set up. These systems will not be able to be shipped with the legs, so a trip to the local hardware store or electrical store will be needed. We use 3/4" IMC electrical conduit with these systems all the time, it’s a little heavier than the cheap EMT conduit and can handle more weight. The EMT conduit can be used if you want and will work fine if you’re just putting small targets on it and not shooting high caliber rifles at it. These same brackets are used for our Flash Targets, Vertical Spinner, and all our horizontal systems. The main bracket is offered in a LT (1/4” AR500) version, and a HD (3/8” AR500) version for doing multiple targets on one stand or heavier targets. These brackets can be used to build portable sawhorses as well, but are not rated to be stood on.
Gong Stand - AR Plate
This is our newest 3/16" AR plate gong stand. This stand is super easy to set up and take down for rifle practice or for use in major matches. The AR plate design present the narrow edge of the plate to the shooting position, making it less likely to get hit with missed shots. Also being made of AR plate, it will take very little damage and last for a very long time. Another benefit of the AR plate is that it will allow the stand to flex a little but is extremely difficult to actually bend. the tabs that the rubber straps and plates attach to are easily removable from the stand for set up and take down, also making it very easy to have extras set up for quick change over during major matches.
Stand will come with 2 single hole tabs and 1 double hole tab and necessary hardware for assembly.
Basic Gongs Kits
These kits will include:
A set of our LT sawhorse stand brackets.
1 heavy duty rubber strap.
A pair of 1/2" grade 5 bolts w/ nuts and washers to attach straps to gong.
A pair of 1/2" lag bolts w/ washers to attach straps to 2x4.
And an AR500 gong w/ 1/2" square holes
The picture may not have the same size plate for the kit selected.
Not included, but needed for set up:
4 Pieces of 3/4" conduit or black pipe at 3' minimum. We typically use 4-5' of 3/4" IMC electrical conduit. And if you drill the 5/16" holes in the ends of the pipes at 2.5" from the end, you can install the pins to hold the legs onto the brackets. This makes the stand a lot easier to set up with 1 person.
And a 2x4, anything 3' or longer will work. Longer will make your pipe legs last longer.
